Top 10 Tips Guide

The ICARA process

Our first webinar in the ongoing series looked at the ICARA and providing guidance on the most pertinent ten aspects that will contribute to an effective and embedded ICARA process.

Although firms have been required to implement an ICARA process since January 2022, the FCA is increasingly utilising the data provided by firms, via regulatory reporting, to identify those which may have weaknesses in their approach to managing risk, capital and liquidity - resulting in requests for firms to provide their documented ICARA process.

In the last 12 months, our Prudential team have seen an uptick in the number requests made by the FCA for firms to provide their ICARA document, outside of formal SREP visits. As a consequence the FCA's expectations are becoming clearer - both through firm specific feedback and broader observations made to the sector.

This webinar covers

  • Getting the context 'right': Understanding your business
  • The importance of day-to-day risk management
  • Quantifying harms
  • Liquidity vs Capital
  • Stress testing & wind-down planning
